Humans are happier than birds - ALSO SEND ME BIRTHDAY MONEY - Updated!

Hey fellas.

RIGHT THEN today i a double barreled post, oh how I love posting, I'd post all the time if I could, post post post it'd be.

But I don't think of good post topics that often, so I generally don't ^_^. I had an idea though, and I also had another idea recently! So here's both of them, first one, then the other, then a reminder of the first one.

FIRST IDEA

So guess what? It's almost my birthday! Awesome! 28th of May I'll be 17 years old! Hurrah! That's pretty cool I think, but wait!

"Oh no!" I hear you cry "How on earth can I help celebrate this annual occasion by giving away things to someone over the internet?"

Fear not mortals! Because with the power of PAYPAL, you too can send me ANY amount of money that you choose :) perhaps as a way of saying "thanks for the occasional cool blog post". Or maybe if you WANT YOUR NAME AND A MESSAGE MENTIONED IN A FUTURE POST HINT HINT BRIBERY.

Seriously though, I even came up with a nifty button! So here's what to do:

1) If you have PayPal, click the link below
2) You'll be taken to a website where you enter HOW MUCH you'd like to donate =)
3) And it's pretty simple after that
4) Receive the JOY OF GIVING

SO WITHOUT FURTHER A DUE: ALLEGED DONATE BUTTON!

Special prize to anyone who donates moneys!

After you've donated (if you were so kind as to), drop me an email at JAMIESK8R91 at GMAIL dot com. You can tell me your name, and a message of your choice will get posted up in the near future, you can also send me a drawing or a picture, and I'll stick that up :) this might not be the MOST POPULAR blog ever, but it'd be cool to be on it still, right? RIGHT? MONEY? NOW? Haha, I kid, it's your own free will, donate as you please :-)
SECOND IDEA

Okay readers, you know how sometimes I occasionally get a bit of an idea or a thought that pops into my head, and it ends up making for an interesting post? No? All my posts are shit? Ok, well this is another one of those then. My latest thought (which I achieved by gazing longingly out of the window in Science 21) is THIS:

BIRDS ARE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE, HAPPIER THAN HUMANS
(But we don't know it)

Diagram:

So do you get it? Do you see how this works? No? Let me explain:

You see, humans are naturally complicated creatures, there's a lot going on with us, we are intelligent, self aware, and always in search of happiness. Can you see where I'm going with this yet?

See it's BECAUSE we are so complicated that makes us so hard to please, ok, generally compared to a pigeon there's a lot MORE that COULD make us happy, but there's also a lot that DOESN'T. And that other stuff often brings us down or makes us depressed or sad or tired or hungry or whatever. You can have assignments to do, or a relationship to maintain, or a blog to upkeep or you can always have SOMETHING in life that's naturally draining your happiness. And while you can switch onto myspace or go out and play football or perhaps listen to music to make you happy, there's still always negative vibes floating around that keep you down, BECAUSE you're so complicated and BECAUSE there's so many variables that can change for the better OR WORST.

Now consider a bird. Be it a small bird, or a big one that flies around and eats the smaller ones, it doesn't matter. Birds are animals, they are not self aware and they have almost NOTHING in their life. They have such a simple existence, and most people would think "ha! we've got better lives than birds! They're just birds!".

But these people in my opinion are oh so wrong, what I wouldn't give to have the existence of the common sparrow. The pinnacle of simple life, and blessed with the joy of FLIGHT.

All a bird does is fly, and eat, and sleep, and occasionally lay eggs, and fly some more. That's it, that's ALL there is to a bird. What is there that could possibly go wrong for those little guys? Not on a physical level, anyone can crash into a tree of course. But on a psychological level, on a social level. Does a sparrow have to worry about making friends? No. Does a pidgeoun worry about getting a law degree? No. Does the peregrine falcon stress over a business contract? NO!

What a bird does is fly, it lives a happy, simple amazing life that no human could possibly begin to imagine, we can't begin to comprehend a life that simple and carefree, or wonder about the incredible gift of free flight.

Nopes!

We forever remain grounded in our modern society of work before play =) with an equal amount of bad to good, and where the bad gets noticed first.

So it works out to simple maths? and I mean SIMPLE MATHS

* Humans - Some good vibes + Some bad vibes = General balance of happiness, give or take
* Bird - Carefree existance of flying and sleeping + Occasionally landing funny = A forever happy life

Human Happiness = So-so
Bird Happiness = Unrestrained

Bird Happiness > Human Happiness

So what do you think? Would you still rather be a bird, or a human? Leave me a comment. Tell me, throw an opinion at me! I love it!

EDIT: NOW HOLD ONE ONE MINUTE!

I got a comment regarding this from a friend of mine, and I thought it was a bloody excellent opinion, he had the following to say:

"The lack of self awareness of the average bird may allow for a seemingly happy life, but in reality a birds life is driven by instinct, and not desire. Birds don't look at the pretty views from way up high, or delight in the joy of sitting around doing nothing. Birds simply live, unconscious of the freedom that they hold.
So in effect, a birds life is not particularly happier than a humans.
Now as to why a humans life isn't so bad.
We are blessed with the joy and yayness of free will. Now, the concept of free will is debatable, but for the most part we can all agree that we as humans possess the ability to make decisions influenced by desire rather than simply necessity.
But Tweek, this is a double edged sword! I hear you say. Ya, it is. But it is the relatively shitty lows of life that allow the highs to be what they are. A life of general ease is not satisfying, which is evident by the foretold miserableness of many millionaires, who get everything they want and as such as pretty bored right there.
So, in conclusion, while a bird may be living the ultimate awesome, without the advanced psyche of us humans it is pretty average."

See? It's great isn't it! Another opinion, someone else's thoughts on life! Thanks very much dude, you gave me a bit of insight ;-) haha nice one!

Oh how I love blogging.

And that essentially wraps up my post for today, but to re-iterate, my birthday is coming up and I'd LOVE it if at least ONE person could give a TINY amount of ANYTHING into my PayPal account, it'd just make my day for reals ^_^.

I LOVE YOUR MONEY...I MEAN I LOVE YOU!

ONE LAST THING BEFORE I GO!

What did you guys get your mums for mother's day then? I went all cheapo and MADE HER SOMETHING! Like back in primary school =) it made her happy as can be.

A while ago I made a paper doll of myself called PaperJamie

Well for my dearest mother, I decided to lovingly craft her her own paper doll, appropriately titled, PaperMum!

Unfortunately I didn't snap any pics of the finished doll, but she has since taken it to work and she lives on top of her monitor now =). But here's the template I drew up and printed. If you like you could print this out and make one yourself, but WHY you'd want a paper doll of MY mother I cant fathom.

Yay!

OH! AND...

My good friend Suzanne sent me this video. This is me hard at work on the beach crafting a lovely sand penis. Enjoy for the lols

Haha! Awesome...

And that truly is me for today my friends, hello again to Holly and Greg, the only people who comment on my posts (and occasionally Melf).

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, I LEAVE THE COMMENT BOX FREE FOR EVERYONE, TALK TO ME

Lots of love and hugs,
MagicalJamie
